About ELCITA
Who We Are
Electronics City, situated on the Bengaluru-Hosur highway, has evolved into a bustling modern township, poised to become a futuristic smart city. With well-maintained public amenities, tree-lined asphalted roads, and inclusive spaces, it stands out as a model industrial estate for the future. The township’s dynamic governance and community engagement ensure the needs of its expanding population are met, and its growth is the result of years of collective leadership, administrative realignments, and foresight.
Established in the 1970s and formally founded in 2013, ELCITA is the model industrial township that strives to pioneer efficient public-private participation and self-governance, fostering collaboration and supporting the growth of industries and start-ups.
Electronics City, spread across 903 acres on the outskirts of Bengaluru, is one of India’s largest electronics industrial parks, housing a mix of small, medium, and large companies in various sectors like IT/ITeS, electronics, hardware, design, and manufacturing. Renowned companies such as Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Siemens, Hewlett Packard, and Tata Consultancy Services have established a significant presence in the area.
For over 20 years, the Electronics City Industries Association (ELCIA) managed the industrial area, taking charge of road maintenance, water supply, street lighting, sewage and waste disposal, transportation facilities, as well as safety and security. In 2013, the Government of Karnataka (GoK) declared Electronics City as an industrial township area under the Karnataka Municipalities Act 1964, leading to the formation of the Electronics City Industrial Township Authority (ELCITA).
